Rack Luffing Crane

A rack luffing crane uses a rack-driven mechanism to change the jib angle and working radius. On a fixed port crane, luffing positions the load closer to or farther from the crane, while slewing turns the crane around its support.

Selecting a slewing fixed crane starts with the cargo transfer path and the available installation position. For a TianLi inquiry, provide the load required at each radius, lifting height, vessel dimensions and quay arrangement. Include the proposed foundation location and any clearance restrictions. The final crane configuration and foundation interface should be defined together for the project.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between luffing and slewing?
Luffing changes the jib angle and outreach. Slewing rotates the crane horizontally around its support. Both movements affect how the crane serves the working area.

What site information is needed for a fixed port crane?
Provide a quay drawing, proposed foundation position, vessel envelope, load cases and available power. Existing foundations require project-specific assessment before reuse.

Email your quay layout and required load at outreach to info@cranetl.com.
