Introduction to shore container crane
Shore container crane, also known as quay crane or bridge crane, is a special crane for loading and unloading container ships at the front of container terminals. It mainly uses special container lifting equipment to complete the loading and unloading of containers. In order to adapt to the heavy-duty loading and unloading of individual container ships, some shore container cranes are equipped with heavy-duty hooks, and some shore container cranes in a few ports have both container and grab loading and unloading functions.
Shore container cranes consist of a gantry consisting of two front and rear door frames and a tie rod, and a bridge supported on the gantry. The walking trolley uses a special lifting equipment to lift the container along the track on the bridge to carry out loading and unloading operations. The gantry can move along a track parallel to the shoreline to adjust the operating position and align the container position. In order to facilitate the ship to dock and leave the dock, the part of the bridge extending outside the dock can be pitched. For high-speed shore container cranes, a lifting device anti-sway device is also installed.
