Main performance parameters of shore container cranes

Determination of main technical parametersThe main parameters of shore container cranes are related to the container type, ship type, wharf structure and loading and unloading requirements.

1. Lifting capacity

The lifting capacity of shore container cranes is usually the sum of the rated lifting capacity and the weight of the spreader, that is, the rated lifting capacity does not include the container spreader. Therefore, the rated lifting capacity is generally determined by the maximum total weight of the lifted container.

2. Dimensional parameters

Includes lifting height, outreach, inreach, track gauge, base distance, gantry clearance height, etc. The lifting height should be determined according to the ship's depth, draft, tidal range and the loading conditions of the containers on board. It is required that when lightly loaded and at high water level, three layers of containers can be loaded and unloaded and can be stacked up to four layers; when fully loaded and at low water level, it can be lifted to the bottom layer of containers at the bottom of the hold.

The outreach refers to the maximum horizontal distance from the center line of the sea side track of the shore container crane to the plumb center line of the spreader.

The inward reach refers to the maximum horizontal distance from the center line of the landside track of the shore container crane to the vertical center line of the spreader. In order to ensure the efficiency of ship loading and unloading, the inward reach can play a certain buffering role when the horizontal handling machinery at the front of the dock is too late to handle.

The determination of the track gauge should make the crane have sufficient stability and take into account the impact of the track gauge change on the crane wheel pressure.

The clearance height of the gantry depends on the height of the mobile handling machinery passing under the gantry.

The base distance refers to the distance between the center lines of the two main supports on the same track.

3. Working speed

The selection of working speed should meet the requirements of loading and unloading productivity and reasonably distribute the working speed of each mechanism. Increasing the speed of lifting and trolley operation is of great significance to shortening the loading and unloading cycle time, but when distributing the speed, it is also necessary to try to match it with the capacity specifications of the motor, and make the electromechanical equipment accessories as universal as possible to facilitate maintenance and replacement. In addition, the increase in the working speed of the crane will increase the swing of the spreader. Therefore, corresponding technical measures such as anti-sway should be considered at the same time, otherwise the effect will be poor.
