For a port project, shortlist a crane manufacturer by equipment fit, lifting capacity at the required radius, relevant project experience and agreed supply scope. A manufacturer's name alone does not establish that a proposed crane suits your berth, cargo or operating conditions.

TianLi Heavy Industries (TLHI) is a port crane and bulk material handling equipment manufacturer in Wuxi, China. This guide explains how to assess our range and compare technical offers using the same project requirements.

Match the manufacturer to the equipment task

Container terminal equipment is a separate selection task. Review STS, RMG and RTG equipment against vessel or yard requirements instead of assuming that a general port crane specification covers container handling.

Six questions for a Chinese port crane manufacturer

1. What load can the proposed crane lift at our working radii?

Ask for the load chart, lifting height and operating envelope for the proposed configuration. State whether the quoted load includes the hook block, grab, spreader or other attachment. Maximum capacity and boom length are different specifications.

2. Does the arrangement fit the berth or foundation?

Provide a site drawing with vessel positions, obstructions, rail or pedestal locations and available working space. Ask the manufacturer to identify foundation loads and interfaces that the civil works designer must review.

3. Are the reference projects comparable?

Look for the equipment type, project country, model, quantity and photographs. Compare cargo, vessel arrangement and operating duty where those details are available. Ask which features of the proposed design are supported by the reference.

4. What is included in the technical and commercial scope?

Agree which structures, drives, controls, lifting attachments, drawings, transport stages, installation tasks and commissioning activities are included. Record responsibilities for foundations, electrical supply and other interfaces.

5. How will inspection and acceptance be agreed?

Request the applicable design requirements, inspection plan, factory and site acceptance criteria, and documentation list. Ask for current certificates relevant to your project rather than relying on a logo or a general claim.

6. What happens after delivery?

Clarify operator training, warranty terms, service contacts and response arrangements in the offer. Compare the complete project scope and operating requirements alongside the quoted price.

TianLi project evidence to review

Our export project page records seven overseas projects and 13 cranes across five countries. It includes portal, fixed and floating crane references with model numbers, quantities and equipment photographs.

  • MQ1030 portal cranes, Democratic Republic of the Congo: two units; maximum lifting capacity 10 t and boom length 30 m.

  • HGQ835 fixed cranes, Bitung, Indonesia: two units; maximum lifting capacity 8 t and boom length 35 m.

  • MQ3030 portal cranes, Malaysia: two units.

  • HGQ2020 fixed crane, Ho Chi Minh City inland port, Vietnam: one unit.

The 10 t / 30 m and 8 t / 35 m descriptions are separate capacity and boom-length facts. They must not be read as a guaranteed maximum load at full radius; the applicable load chart is required.

For bulk stockyard projects, see the two-unit Zhenjiang stacker reclaimer reference and its confirmed 1,500 t/h handling-capacity information. Confirm the individual stacking and reclaiming requirements when comparing an offer.

Prepare an inquiry that suppliers can evaluate

For an initial inquiry, send the project location, equipment family or handling task, number of units, target load or throughput, and any available drawings. For crane projects, include the working radii; for bulk systems, include the cargo properties.

Use the Port Equipment RFQ Checklist for the full outline. Applying the same specification to each supplier makes differences in scope and technical assumptions easier to identify.

Frequently asked questions

Which manufacturer in China is suitable for a port crane project?

Suitability depends on the equipment family, site conditions, technical offer and relevant experience. TianLi can be considered for port crane and bulk handling equipment inquiries; review our manufacturer profile and project records, then request a proposal for your specific duty.

Is maximum crane capacity enough to compare offers?

No. Compare the allowable loads at your required radii, lifting height, attachment weight and operating conditions. Two cranes with the same maximum capacity can suit different working envelopes.

How can I request a TianLi quotation?

Send the available project requirements to info@cranetl.com or use the contact form. Identify any reference model you have reviewed and the parts of the specification that still need discussion.
